Day 55 - UFO's - forth & clyde canal

Linlithgow to Kilsyth - 18 miles. Started at 8.00 & finished at 17.00. Taxi driver informed me that this is an area of UFO's. He has had 2 sightings - last one being the size of half a football pitch in the shape of a half moon, whilst he was driving a bus. he did not check out if anyone else saw it because he felt awkward! Anyway how fantastic is that! Back on Union Canal, passed through a Tunnel 620 metres long-water sprays out of the cracks in the roof, there is a railing to stop you from falling into the water, a bit dark & spooky. there is minimum illumination and at the far end the light gradually turns from a pinprick to the archway out into daylight. Arrived at Falkirk wheel-a unique boatlift which carries boats 25 m up and down. Hence connects two canals- quite impressive. Had lunch there - quite touristy. then onto the connecting canal -Forth & Clyde canal. Another hot sunny day. Summer has returned. XX
