Day 46 - Tuesday 14th August 2007 Hadrian wall

Day 46. Slaggyford to Once Brewed YHA near Bardon Mill - about 16 miles. Decided to walk South Tyne Way for four miles to Lambley and then joined the Pennine Way again. Very wet and boggy at Blenkinsopp Common & not too well sign-posted. Thank goodness for Phil's GPS. as it was one big boggy moor. Severe weather for most of the country but ok here so far. Greenhead for lunch. Tooth more cracked then first realised and my boots are no longer waterproof. Thank goodness for waterproof socks! Stopped off at Roman Army museum which was interesting. Then on to Hadrian's Wall. Good day. Checked into YHA - £19.50 inc.breakfast.xx

Hi Marisa
We are following your progress with interest, admiration and envy!.Hope the tooth ache doesn't take the edge off the enjoyment. This time last week we were at the top of Pen-y-ghent together. And Gerry had not yet lost his hat!
Keep enjoying the walk. We will continue to track your progress.
Love gerry and Teresa.
