Day 44 - Sunday 12th August- garrigill- no food

Middleton-in-teedale to Garrigill about 18 miles. Started at 8.40 & finishedat 17.45. Passed Low Force & High Force waterfalls, both worth a visit. Lovely 7 mile riverside meadows. Phil & I decided to miss out trail to Dufton & hence Cross Fell due to bad weather forecast & besides the Pennine Way goes far west & round so its more like a detour. Stopped for Sunday lunch at Langdon Beck Hotel, then took the road onto Garigill which was a bit hard going and got a bit teadious- just wanted to checked into BB! Checked into old post office BB £25. Unfortunately pub next door not serving food tonight. So we took an taxi to Alston. met my fellow b& Bers on my return who are on a moter biking holiday. XX
