Day 49 - Friday 17th August - Scottish Borders

Byrness to Jedburgh. 20 miles started at 7.30 finished at 16.00. Left Pennine Way near Blackhall hill - crossed into Scotland. Said goodbye to Phil who has 27miles to complete the last stage. He intends to camp on top. Then onto Kirk Yetholm. This is a detour to the Cheviots which is by all accounts a lovely summit. It was lovely walking with Phil these pass 5 days & he made it a more pleasanter journey. Mike & I got the rain towards the latter part of the day- Walked 8 miles of road into town. Lovely to have spent time with Mike who is on his way back to West London. Checked into B+B Aksao-Uram £18. Chuffed to be in Scotland - going for a wee dram XX
