Day 33 - annoying cows-arrived at Edale
Priestcliffe to Edale. 10.5 miles. Started at 8.30am, finished at 13.40. Pleasant walk particularly approaching Edale. Top tip - do not decide to fold map up whilst walking past a herd of cows- not sure if it was the noise of the paper in the wind or the paper itself, but about 15 cattle surged towards and around me. I quickly scrambled the map & weakly shoo'd them away. This is the 2nd time cows have surrounded me in such a manner - can't remember what I did last time, but it's quite scary! No sight of anyone for over 2 hours then about 30 ramblers walking towards me so I quickly straightened my map so not to look like a complete idiot. Checked into Ramblers Inn £38 as YHA has summer camp!! Some woman quickly asked me to vacate the room as room not cleaned yet! Lucky had not got into the shower! Now at the start of Pennine Way. A little apprehensive for tommorrow as the trail is vast & sparse. Will check out the village & info centre. XX
