Day 23 - Sunday 22nd July -man & his dog

Hay-on-Wye to Kington 14.5 miles. Started at 8.40am finished at 16.15 but took another hour to find accommodation. Lovely pleasant walk today with good views. 2 hills Disgwylfa and Hergest. Stopped at Gladestry for lunch. Chatted to the locals. One chap from the pub, said he would meet me descending the hill on his bike, which he did with his cute dog, sat in a basket. he tolsd me that he had like an Angel who would always look out for him so he trusted that he would be safe.We walked into town together. YHA closed on Sundays and also the Pubs close during the day, even if it has BB to offer! Kept walking round to find something and met John (English guy who lives in Prague) who was doing the same. Eventually a chap at a B+B rang round for us and we checked into a twin room at The Swan Hotel. The Royal Welsh Show is on, hence that's why it's busy. Found launderette for another welcomed clothes wash. Weather stayed dry. Went for an Indian with John and a Dutch couple whom John met on route.and been walking with. xx
