Malham to Horton-in-Ribblesdale - 14.5miles. Started at 8.30am and finished at 17.15. Walked past Malham Cove - high rockface which once had a waterfall. Quite an impressive place.Hooked up with Gerry & Teresa -i was asking the way, teachers from Nottingham who are doing four days of the walk. Packed lunch at the top of Fountain Fell, which was pretty lovely.Gerry was using Wainwright's book which has an historical slant. Then scramble walk up Pen-y-Ghent - 694m- one of Yorkshire's 3 peaks. Golden Lion Hotel & Bunk House- £10 - breakfast £6.50 - needed to hire sleeping cover but pillow thrown in. Only person here - lots ofcampers. Signed P.Way visitors book at Pen-y-Ghent cafe - the oldest in existence . Think I'm at the halfway point. weather was lovely todayxx
